Online quote & booking terms

These terms apply to A-Side's domestic online boiler supply-and-install quotation and booking journey. They explain how online quotations, payments, booking acceptance, installation scope, cancellation rights and complaints are handled. Your statutory consumer rights are not restricted by these terms.

2. What the online quote covers

The online journey uses the information you provide to identify an initial boiler match and a price for the stated standard installation scope. The price shown includes VAT for domestic customers. It is based on the answers, photos and options you provide and may include separately shown installation allowances or optional upgrades.

The online recommendation is not a substitute for final technical checks. Boiler output, flue arrangements, gas supply, condensate route, system condition, access and manufacturer-warranty eligibility remain subject to A-Side confirmation.

3. Your booking request and when the contract is formed

Your online submission and any checkout payment are a request to book on the quoted basis. A-Side accepts the booking only when we send you a written Booking Confirmation setting out the agreed scope, price and installation date.

Until A-Side accepts your request in writing, you may withdraw it at any time. If a payment has already been taken and you withdraw before acceptance, A-Side will refund that payment in full and will not charge a cancellation fee.

If A-Side cannot accept the job on the quoted basis, we will explain why and, unless you expressly agree a revised quotation, refund any checkout payment already taken.

4. Prices, VAT and delivery costs

Domestic prices displayed in the quote journey include VAT. Optional extras and installation allowances selected online are also shown VAT-inclusive. Delivery of the boiler and other items included in the accepted installation package to the installation address is included in that package price; there is no separate standard delivery charge. If information supplied online is inaccurate or an installation requires work outside the stated scope, A-Side will explain and agree any revised price or additional charge before carrying out that additional work.

5. Deposit, full payment and balance

The online checkout offers a £250 deposit as the recommended option, with pay in full available for eligible standard installations. Any deposit paid is credited against the final agreed price.

If you choose the deposit option, the remaining balance is due on successful completion of the installation on the same day, once the boiler has been installed, commissioned and handed over. The payment method for that balance is secure card/payment link. The amount due and payment instructions will also be stated in A-Side's written Booking Confirmation.

A deposit is not automatically non-refundable. Statutory cancellation rights and the pre-acceptance withdrawal right in section 3 take priority. Outside those rights, any amount A-Side seeks to retain following a customer cancellation must be fair, reasonable and linked to losses or costs A-Side is legally entitled to recover. Any deduction will be explained.

6. Standard installation scope

The exact included work shown immediately before checkout and in A-Side's written Booking Confirmation forms part of the quotation. For an eligible standard replacement, the package is intended to include the selected boiler, like-for-like fitting in the existing position, the normal manufacturer horizontal flue arrangement through a suitable external wall, compatible filter and controls, a chemical system clean with inhibitor, connection to suitable existing services including connection to a suitable existing gas supply and a suitable existing condensate route, basic weatherproof sealing at the standard flue penetration, removal of the old boiler, commissioning, relevant Building Regulations paperwork where applicable and manufacturer warranty registration where eligible.

If you select the £295 same-room relocation allowance or the £295 vertical-flue allowance, it is shown separately and remains subject to technical confirmation. Relocation to another room is individually quoted. These allowances do not automatically cover unusually long or concealed pipe routes, specialist access, structural work or other site-specific work; A-Side confirms the final scope before accepting the booking.

Unless specifically included in the written scope, the package does not include scaffolding or specialist access; non-standard/extended flue or chimney work; radiator/TRV work or repairs to pre-existing heating faults; upgrading or replacing gas supply pipework, including a new 22mm gas run where required, and other major gas-supply alterations; new or substantially altered condensate drainage or a condensate pump; major system conversions or cylinder/tank work; electrical remedial work beyond connection to a suitable existing supply; asbestos or hazardous-material work; structural work; or extensive decorating, boxing-in, tiling, plastering or other making-good. A full system powerflush can be selected as a £495 inc. VAT upgrade and is carried out on the same day as the boiler installation.

If hidden conditions, inaccurate information or a pre-existing defect mean additional work is reasonably required, A-Side will explain the issue and agree any revised scope and price with you before carrying out that additional work, except for immediate safety action required by law or professional duty.

7. Delivery, installation date and access

An online date/window remains subject to A-Side's written confirmation. The website may temporarily hold available capacity while you complete secure checkout, but a capacity hold or successful online payment does not by itself mean A-Side has accepted the booking. If A-Side accepts the booking, the boiler and other included goods are normally delivered to the installation address on the confirmed installation date and the agreed installation work is normally performed during that visit, unless the written Booking Confirmation states otherwise.

You must provide safe and reasonable access to the property, boiler location and relevant services, tell us about known access restrictions or hazardous materials, and ensure an authorised adult can provide access where required.

8. Unexpected or additional work

If we discover work that was not reasonably identifiable from the information supplied online, we will normally stop, explain the issue and obtain your agreement to any extra charge before proceeding. Nothing in these terms permits A-Side to add undisclosed optional charges without your agreement.

9. Contract duration, boiler warranty and servicing

The installation contract is a one-off contract for the agreed supply and installation work and does not renew automatically. Obligations that are intended to continue after installation, including payment obligations, statutory rights and any applicable manufacturer warranty or after-sales commitments, are not affected by completion of the installation.

Any warranty period displayed is A-Side's current warranty offer for that product, subject to final manufacturer eligibility and registration requirements. Manufacturer warranties can have conditions such as correct registration and ongoing servicing. The confirmed warranty and relevant conditions will be stated in the Booking Confirmation or installation documents.

10. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms removes or limits your statutory rights. Goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, and installation services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. Where installation forms part of the goods contract, the goods must also be installed correctly.

11. Cancellation rights for the online supply-and-install contract

For the Consumer Contracts Regulations, a contract that has both goods and services as its object is treated as a sales contract. For an online boiler supply-and-install contract, the normal statutory cancellation period therefore runs until the end of 14 days after the day the goods come into your physical possession. Different timing rules can apply where goods in one order are delivered separately. Your statutory rights always take priority over this summary.

Please read our cancellation information before checkout. The quote journey makes the statutory model cancellation form available and records the version of the terms you accepted.

Installation work during the cancellation period

Because the boiler is normally delivered and installed as one visit, the installation/service element would ordinarily begin before the sales-contract cancellation period has expired. For online checkout, A-Side therefore asks you to make an express early-start request if you want the installation work to start during that period. Making that request does not by itself waive your statutory cancellation right.

If you later exercise a valid statutory cancellation right after service work has begun in response to your express request, A-Side may charge a reasonable and proportionate amount for the service actually supplied up to cancellation where the law allows. Before work starts, the written Booking Confirmation must state the agreed service/labour amount or a clear basis for calculating that service element.

Return and collection of the boiler

Where you validly exercise a statutory cancellation right and returnable goods have been supplied, A-Side will bear the direct cost of returning or collecting those goods. If a gas appliance has already been installed, do not disconnect it yourself. Contact A-Side and, where the cancellation right applies, we will arrange safe removal/collection.

Where the law permits a deduction for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of goods, any deduction will be explained. A-Side will not recover the same loss twice by applying both a service charge and a duplicate goods deduction for the same work.

Refund timing

Because A-Side offers to collect/arrange the return of goods covered by a valid statutory cancellation, any reimbursement due under that cancellation will be made without undue delay and, in any event, within 14 days after the day A-Side is informed of your decision to cancel. Refunds will use the same payment method as the original transaction unless you expressly agree otherwise, and no refund fee will be charged.

12. Complaints and dispute resolution

If something goes wrong, contact us promptly and give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and put matters right. Our complaints procedure explains the process. When A-Side communicates the outcome of a complaint, we will tell you about any ADR or other complaint-resolution arrangement available to you that A-Side is required to participate in by law or contract.

13. Privacy, payment provider and contract record

See our privacy policy. Online card payments are processed securely by Stripe, so card details are entered on Stripe's hosted payment page rather than directly into A-Side's site.

After checkout, A-Side's payment-receipt email records the accepted terms version, cancellation information and your early-start choice. If A-Side accepts the booking, the separate written Booking Confirmation must provide the agreed contract information on a durable medium before installation/service work begins.
